Community Services
As per CCFUP-NEP 2020 regulation of Vidyasagar University, Government General Degree College, Salboni, introduces a 4-Credit Community Services course in the first year of study marks a significant step toward integrating practical, social engagement into the academic experience. This course mandates a minimum of 120 hours of active involvement in various community services, including National Service Scheme (NSS) activities, rural development projects, and social development initiatives. Students will engage in these activities in collaboration with local government bodies such as panchayet and municipalities, providing them with firsthand experience in addressing community needs and contributing to societal improvement. Under the guidance of a designated faculty member serving as the Course Coordinator for Community Services, students will not only apply their academic learning to real-world problems but also develop a deeper understanding of civic responsibility and social impact. This hands-on approach ensures that students gain valuable insights into community dynamics and strengthens their commitment to social service, thereby enriching their overall educational journey and fostering a sense of civic duty.
